MY TIME CAPSULE

What is a time capsule and what is its purpose? The dictionary defines it as a “noun: a container storing a selection of objects chosen as being typical of the present time, buried for discovery in the future.” The `purpose of a time capsule is to tell who we are or who we were during that time of our lives. It can be a representation of what we valued at a particular point in time. Welcome to My Time Capsule. You do not need a shovel to dig it up. Just turn the page, one by one. Each chapter is a time capsule of memories dear to my heart. If this sounds more like an introduction than the first chapter, well... it is both. People often skip right over the introduction and go straight to Chapter One. What about the introduction or prologue? It depends on the reader, I guess. So just in case you are a reader who skips over some of the preliminaries, I am glad to attract your attention. But just a note from an avid reader - you are cheating yourself when you skip those first few pages of a book. What if I acknowledged you? You would not know because you skipped it. I could havE dedicated this book to you but you missed it!

Okay, I am not lecturing you! Whatever part you have played in my life, I sincerely thank you. This may be the first time we are meeting, “Hello. Welcome.”

As you experience many of the challenges and tragedies with me, I pray that you feel the perseverance, dedication, strength and love of the family. May you embrace these memories and share them with subsequent generations.
